4 Days Spearfishing Level 1

  • The course runs for 4 days and offers a unique experience in the world of spearfishing. Our professional instructors will make you familiar with the tools and skills needed to become the silent hunter of the deep.

    During this course you will learn to control your body with your breathing, move through the water in the most efficient and silent way and how to prepare and shoot a speargun.

    The last 2 days you will take a boat trips and find yourself in some of the best fishing spots armed not only with your spear but with skill and knowledge that will help you earn your lunch.

    We are based in the Fusion Freediving Center in Amed where we can chill out, watch the day's videos and have our lunch prepared by our famous cook.

  • Day 1:

    • Theory sessions: equipment, physiology, physics, diaphragmatic breathing, equalisation, safety and rescue

    • Breathing awareness and relaxation session

    • Dry breath hold practice

    • Lunch

    • Confined water session 1 – Static apnea, relaxation, buddying, safety and rescue practice

    • Confined water session 2 – Dynamic apnea with fins, body position, streamlining, finning technique, buddying, safety and rescue practice

    Day 2:

    • Theory review: equalisation, body position, duck dives

    • Open water session 1 – free immersion dives, equalisation, body position, streamlining, duck dives, introduction to finning

    • Lunch

    • Written exam

    • Open water session 2 – Refining finning and deep diving, max depth attempts, rescue and safety skills

    • Summary

    Day 3:

    • Theory sessions: equipment, physiology, safety and spearfishing technique

    • Gun designs

    • Lunch

    • Dry gun familiarisation

    • Wet target practice

    • FAD’s consolidation trip

    • Fish Filletting and preparation

    Day 4:

    • Gear and equipment check (with any target practice prior to departure if using unfamiliar guns)

    • Lunch

    • Reef or FAD’s depending on clients request and weather conditions.

    • Fish Filletting and preparation ending every trip
