Tulamben is a small fishing village, 30 km north of Amed, about 20-30 min by road. As well as local dives off the various Amed beaches the most remarkable attraction is the wreck, USAT Liberty. The Liberty is a US Army transport ship torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in 1942. The wreck lies about 30 m offshore and is covered in soft corals, anemone and thousands of tropical fish that have made a home out of this old ship. With depths from 5 to 33 meters, the Liberty is one of the most enjoyable freediving/snorkelling destinations. Perfect combination of marine life, swim-throughs and a big school of jacks welcoming you!

Program:

6:00 – 6:30
Pick up from Sanur/Kuta Area (depending on number of participants)

9.30 – 10:00
Arrive in Amed, preparing the gear

10.30 – 12:30
Arrive in Tulamben, freediving / snorkelling session on the wreck

13.30
Delicious lunch at Fusion Café

14:00
Chillout time in Amed, if enough time before transfer to Sanur/Kuta it’s possible to rent a  gear and snorkel on the local reef

15.00 – 18:00
Return transfer to Sanur/Kuta area (depending on the number of participants and the schedule of the courses)

 

Prerequisites:

  • Level 1 certification or confident snorkeller
  • Good health

All you need is your Swimwear, Sandals, Sunscreen and a Towel
